[section_title]Choosing Art Papers & Custom Borders[/section_title]

Choosing a paper or media type comes down to your personal preference and budget, generally I suggest any of the matte paper options over glossy. The following are all great choices, prices vary based on the paper quality and thickness.

Enhanced Matte – Lowest cost option, art prints featured on this website are all printed on this paper.
For a flat matte surface, Epson Enhanced Matte Paper is the ideal choice. This bright white paper is perfect for images that do not require gloss. It yields highly saturated images, while maintaining excellent highlight and shadow detail.

Somerset Velvet Fine Art
Somerset Velvet is a delicately textured fine art paper engineered to give you the highest resolution and color saturation possible. It has always been the first paper choice among serious artists and printmakers dating back to the 1700’s and the days of handmade paper. Somerset Velvet is 100% cotton, acid-free paper with luxurious weight, texture and finish that truly delivers museum quality appearance.

UltraSmooth Fine Art
Epson UltraSmooth Fine Art Paper is a 100% cotton hot press paper that is coated on both sides and is not only acid, lignin, and chlorine free, it is also pH buffered with calcium carbonate for a true archival sheet. This paper is engineered to give you the highest resolution and color saturation possible.

Hahnemuehle Torchon
Torchon by Hahnemuhle, is an acid free cotton rag watercolor paper with a parchment or pastel paper surface. Especially suitable for reproductions of oil, watercolor and pastel paintings. The printed side of this paper has been specially coated for excellent image sharpness and optimum color graduation. The coating also offers a very high level of water resistance. Common applications include fine art reproduction, business cards, greetings cards, post cards, novelty applications, certificates and presentation prints for display purposes.

Hahnemuhle Photo Rag 308
A smooth bright white 100% rag based paper specifically designed to meet the need of photographers or artists using digital photographic output. The heavier 308 gsm paper provides the weight of an art paper with a smooth calendared surface, which picks up every detail captured in the photograph. The coated side of this paper provides excellent image sharpness and optimum color graduation. The coating also offers a very high level of water resistance.

Pro Matte Canvas
Made from a durable blend of 65% Polyester and 35% Cotton, our Pro Matte Canvas is a heavyweight, quality canvas utilizing a tight weave that is ideal for photographic, fine art and everyday printing alike. It offers a high resolution coating that is pliable enough to withstand stretching over bars, and displays a subtle texture for a true artistic appearance and feel. Combined with incredible color reproduction, our Pro Matte Canvas provides a matte finish, instant dry versatility, and water resistance to allow for all applications that require the highest image quality and an archival display life.

[section_title]Do the art prints include any white border?[/section_title]

Yes. All prints are trimmed to include an 1/8″ white border.

Can I request a custom border size?

Yes. Custom border sizes can be requested during checkout. Look for the “Special Instructions” box where you can specify a preferable border size. Please note, there may be some limitations as to how much border can be added (depending also on the size of print being ordered). I’ve added as much as 2.5 inches on an over-sized print print but contact care@imagekind.com to be sure.

I’m purchasing an unframed print, how will it be delivered?

Unframed prints are shipped rolled in a sturdy reinforced cardboard “crush-proof” tube that is twice as thick as anyone else in the industry to avoid damage to the art while in transit.

I’m purchasing a framed print, how will it be delivered?

Framed prints ship in a custom box designed by imagekind, the frame is fitted with corner protectors, the moulding protected by plastic wrap and the entire framed print securely fastened with strapping.

Can I purchase one of the frames on your website?

Unfortunately no, the frames used in photos are my own which I have purchased from various sources, they are displayed to give you a better idea of how the artwork can look framed. Most customers either purchase the art print alone and have it framed locally or they choose a frame available on the Imagekind website. Please refer to the bottom of this page for more information about the frames I’ve used.

Where can I purchase my own frames?

Premade frames are usually the lowest cost option and are easy to find in big box stores such as Ikea, Walmart, Target, HomeGoods, HomeSense, Michael’s and so on.

What is the best/easiest way to frame my art?

One of the best ways to get a custom gallery look is to purchase a frame that is two or more inches bigger than your art print then have a custom mat cut at your local framing shop, be sure to bring the art and your frame to get the right fit. You don’t HAVE to use a mat with your frame, however you would need a frame with an opening that is the same size as your print if choosing to go without a mat, exact frame sizes can be more difficult to find.

My local framing shop is too expensive, where else can I find lower priced frames?

The following websites offer some great prices for custom and ready made frames.

Local thrift stores such as Salvation Army and Goodwill can be great for finding unique, low cost and even over-sized frames.

I like one of the frames on your site, where is it from?

The photographed art on my website features frames from various sources including Ikea, Ebay, Frames By Mail and even Salvation Army. Please contact me at info@cozamia.com if you would like to know more about a specific frame.
